Show us a great postcard.
I made it for a postcard swap I did sometime last year, and it's up on my Cafepress shop for order in a pack of 8. The felt 'fruit' on this particular card was added on as an extra touch for my swapee, and aren't on the ones available now.
Share a photo of something that made a huge impact on your life.
I can't just pick one thing (or person!), so I'd cheat on this one and say three.
First, my sister-in-crime, Cher for being the best sister anyone could have. I'm so lucky that even with our 10 year age gap, we get along bloody darn well; except maybe on the odd occasion that we're both pms-ing at the same time. :) She helps me stay a kid at heart, and I like to think that maybe I'm someone she looks up to. *batters eyelids at Cher*
Then of course, the love of my life, who has been for four and a bit years. James and I have had pretty rough patches; espescially because we're so alike in the worst things (stubborn, very anal retentive, perfectionists), and so different in others. But somehow we managed to stay together, and in love, and hopefully one day in the next few years, we'll be blissfully married - even though he warns that we'll be as poor as church mice. I've got him to propose, now I just need to work on the marriage bit! :D
Of course, lastly, it would be Blythes. Seems a little superficial to say that plastic dollies with big heads and changable eyes would even impact on the tiniest bit of my life; but they do. Ever since I started collecting them in September last year, I've found a whole new creative side to me that laid dormant for so long. I've found new friends online and off through Blythe, and like many other Blythe collectors, now see Blythe as a muse. Maybe I'm getting clucky, and the maternal instincts are showing up, but I see them as my little kiddies. And the best kind too - they don't talk back! (Except, maybe Catie. Heh.)
I'm supposed to take a photo of a hand-me-down, and I guess this qualifies as one even though it's not technically mine. It's one of James' (that he can't fit into anymore, so I kindly relieved it off him) and it was his grandfather's originally. At some point, his gramps passed it on to him, and he's had it ever since. Now it's unofficially mine, and oh, it great for those winter evenings.
Capture a new angle on something you see every day.
Right, it's not really a creative angle, but it's a photo of my wall calendar I have in my room. First thing I see in the morning, last thing at night (unless I'm playing with my Nintendo DS in bed!). It's one of those perpetual calendars where you have to scroll the wheels at the side to change the day, date and month. Frankly, on most days, I can't be bothered doing it. You can tell from the Par Avion stripes that it's an airline themed calendar - those legs belong to a really smiley stewardess.
(The date in the photos's still stuck on April 18th: that was my birthday, and also the day James proposed. :D)
Take a photo of a tchotchke or souvenir from your travels.
Found these two vintage Anchor Hocking/Fire King ramekins in a Salvos on my most recent trip up to Newcastle. Technically wouldn't consider this a souvenior/trinket, but James's mom bought them for me to start off my vintage bake/serveware collection, so it's a memento of sorts.
